Taking Raw DVD Vob files and converting then uploading to an online streaming video page can be difficult if you don’t have the right software. Lucky for us it’s all free!
So here we go on the Converting Vob to Online Streaming Video Tutorial.
The first step is to rip the DVD. Now make sure the DVD you’re ripping is not copyrighted (Movies, Audio DVDs etc.)
For ripping the DVD you’ll need a ripping program. DVD Decrypter is my favorite because it’s fast and easy to use.
Choose Location to save ripped raw vob DVD files.
Next click the convert button.
Next after you choose a folder and rip the DVD download a conversion program to convert all the raw DVD vob file into a single video file.
The best program for converting vob files is HandBrake.
It is capable for converting to a whole host of formats and resolutions but for this project we will use the default settings.
Click source and choose DVD files then navigate to the folder used during the DVD rip process.
Choose a location to save the final video file.
Then choose Start to start the conversion process. A DOS window pops up and the conversion process has begun.
Depending on the power of computer your using and the size of the DVD files your converting the conversion could take from 30 mins to several hrs.
Now your ready to upload your shiny new file to the Online Service.
Vimeo is my choice for this tutorial.
Sign up for a free account (500mb per week free) or the $59 per year pro account for unlimited size and speed.
Click the upload file button when you sign in and choose the m4v file converted by HandBrake and click upload. Thats it. After Vimeo is done converting the file you’ll have a high quality DVD converted online and streaming. Enjoy!
